What You Will Be Doing:

As a Data Center Commissioning Lead, you are responsible for overseeing the end-to-end commissioning process of data center facilities to ensure operational readiness and compliance with design specifications. This position ensures that all systems—electrical, mechanical, and IT infrastructure—are tested, validated, and documented according to industry standards and client requirements. The role demands strong leadership to manage a commissioning team, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and maintain strict adherence to safety and quality protocols.

You will own project timelines, while proactively resolving technical and operational challenges. Additionally, you must ensure progress aligns with project objectives and maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and best practices in data center commissioning operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Complete all essential technician responsibilities.
  • Technical Communicator for other technicians on the job to help meet the customer's and Yancey's schedule requirements.
  • Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and locate mechanical deficiencies for Commercial Services. Help Source and order parts when needed.
  • Help Determine the extent of necessary repairs, including identifying the root cause or any major issue that may arise during the repair.
  • Support other technicians in the proper use of diagnostic equipment.
  • Help lead the Repair and/or replacement of any components of Gensets, marine, or industrial engines.
  • Assist in training and quality control on all aspects of work orders and job management, including but not limited to safety, warranty, timesheets, services, customer and coordinator communication and interaction, parts, AWRs, accuracy, and time management.
  • Assist in new technician interviews and technician recruiting.
  • Confirm operation of any equipment and vehicle with possession of all necessary licenses and certificates.
  • Perform all work in accordance with established quality standards and safety procedures.
  • Must work overtime on short notice.
  • Must Maintain all work areas, tools, and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers and coworkers.
  • All other duties as assigned and qualified.
Who We Are Looking For:

To be successful in this position you should have a strong mechanical aptitude with previous experience as a technician. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to provide direction and instruction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.

Education/

Experience:

  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Appropriate certification from a Technical institution is preferred.
  • 5+ years of industry experience.

  • Demonstrate the ability to mentor, train, and direct less experienced technicians and show a willingness to do so.
    • Work with lesser-tenured technicians to help them develop/improve strong skills.
    • Demonstrate a positive and helpful attitude.
    • Work within safety and integrity guidelines at all times to teach and assure safety and reduce accidents.
    • Offer assistance and guidance to peers to help produce quality technicians.
    • Maintain and encourage a professional image and appearance at all times.
    • Demonstrate excellent customer relation skills.
  • Training based on the Tech level achieved before Lead title.
