Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Basic computer skills and proficiency in technology to support clinical care.
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment and respond to emergencies in a composed manner.
Excellent time management skills.
Critical thinking skills and the ability to practice nursing using evidence-based methods.
Description:
The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team.
They ensure that patients and their families receive individualized high-quality care.
The nurse practices in a clinical environment supported by nurse managers and leaders.
The framework for practice is informed by professional practice models and evidence-based practices.
It is expected that all RN Clinical Nurses uphold the practice of nursing as outlined by relevant professional acts and standards.
They advocate for patients and adhere to system policies while promoting service excellence.
Core Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:
Perform the nursing process in clinical care using evidence-based practices.
Ensure care is individualized by utilizing analytical thinking.
Adopt service delivery that respects cultural diversity and patient characteristics.
Collaborate with patients and significant others in care planning and updates.
Coordinate and document safe, quality patient care through interdisciplinary communication methods.
Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration in a fiscally responsible manner.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and research to enhance patient care.
Ensure all required ongoing professional competency assessments and education are completed.
Serve as a mentor for other professional nurses and students to promote a qualified workforce.
Promote evidence-based practice and research in nursing.
Uphold organizational policies and clinical competencies.
Participate in data collection and consult experts to address clinical questions.
Proactively plan for patient care across the continuum.
Support the development of protocols and procedures in collaboration with team members.
Use human and material resources efficiently.
Perform other duties as assigned and comply with all relevant policies and standards.
