Experience:
Minimum of 5 years experience in the operating room.
Strong proficiency in 2 of the following 3 specialties:
Neurology, Orthopedics, Vascular.
License:
Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN Multi-state Compact.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
PALS certification required.
Must-Have:
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Ability to function in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management skills.
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills.
Description:
The RN Clinical Periop Nurse is an essential member of an interdisciplinary team.
They ensure that patients and their families receive individualized, high-quality, safe patient care.
They operate within a clinical environment supported by Nurse Managers and other leaders.
The nursing practice is guided by professional practice models and evidence-based research.
All Clinical Nurses must be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold the standards of nursing.
These standards are outlined by the state's Nurse Practice Act and the Code of Ethics.
As part of the patient services team, the individual must uphold patient care standards.
This includes understanding cultural diversity in patient needs and preferences.
The RN Clinical Nurse must coordinate care through effective partnerships.
They utilize the nursing process to deliver personalized clinical care.
Teamwork and collaboration are essential for safe, quality patient care.
The nurse is responsible for timely documentation and promoting a respectful environment.
Participation in performance improvement initiatives is expected.
Evidence-based practice and nursing research play a vital role in providing care.
The RN Clinical Nurse engages in protocol development and supports efficient resource use.
Other duties may be assigned as needed.
