Staff Nurse

Utilizing the Nursing Process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating, the Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care; managing assigned personnel, and Promoting collaboration among the multi-disciplinary health care team. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioners sites for consultation

Associate Degree in Nursing - Required

1-2 Years Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care - Required

2 years Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care in a hospital within the last five years preferred.

Registered Nursing License with State of Practice - Required

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required

Collects and assesses patient data in an effort to provide a safe environment for the patient during their perioperative experience.

• Calls patients the night before surgery to provide arrival times and answer questions. Gives preoperative instructions.

Anticipates the need for surgical patient based on the patient assessment, procedure performed and physician preference.

Provides excellent patient care. Keeps family informed. Rounds on team and assists as needed.

• Takes initiative to review unit/departmental customer or co-worker satisfaction scores as posted in unit. Promotes measures to improve customer/co-worker satisfaction scores. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that promote excellent patient experiences.
• Participates in service planning and development using knowledge of industry trends. Takes administrative call. Supports change initiatives. Keeps manager informed of department activities. Takes administrative call.
