As the IR RN, you’ll perform critical pre-procedure assessments, establish reliable IV access, monitor vital signs, and assist physicians during angiography, embolization, stent placements, and other imaging-guided interventions. You’ll ensure sterile technique, manage conscious sedation or monitored anesthesia care under supervision, and coordinate with nursing, radiology, and anesthesia teams to optimize patient safety. Post-procedure care, patient education, and discharge planning will complete the patient journey.
This role offers clear pathways for professional growth within interventional radiology, including cross-training in vascular interventions, advanced hemodynamic monitoring, and participation in quality improvement initiatives.
