Nurse Manager (RN) – Vascular Telemetry

Job Summary

The Nurse Manager – Vascular Telemetry is a Registered Nurse leader responsible for overseeing clinical operations, staff performance, and patient care delivery within a specialized vascular telemetry unit. This role ensures optimal patient outcomes through high-quality nursing practice, resource management, strong team leadership, and adherence to professional and regulatory standards.

The Nurse Manager drives quality, patient safety, communication, and staff engagement while serving as the unit’s retention and safety officer. This role collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and leadership to promote excellence in telemetry, cardiac/vascular patient care, and overall unit performance.

Core ResponsibilitiesResources & Support
  • Lead and manage clinical operations, staffing, and workflow within the Vascular Telemetry unit.
  • Serve as the unit’s chief retention and safety officer to support staff and maintain a safe environment.
  • Oversee talent management, onboarding, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Manage financial performance and apply LEAN strategies to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Promote relationship-based care and shared governance participation.
Interdisciplinary Teamwork & Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of nursing staff, medical providers, and hospital departments.
  • Build strong relationships and resolve conflict to support a healthy work environment.
  • Foster collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes and continuity of care.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional guidance for staff and emerging leaders.
Exemplary Practice & Outcomes
  • Ensure staff competency in clinical care for vascular, cardiac, and telemetry patients.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical and professional nursing practice.
  • Lead quality initiatives, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement activities.

  • Develop and manage operational budgets and performance goals.

Required QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) — Required
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) — Preferred
Licensure & Certifications
  • Active RN License (Single-State or Multi-State Compact) — Required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (AHA or ARC) — Required
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management experience — Required
  • Experience in Vascular, Telemetry, or Cardiac services — Preferred
Skills
  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Strong leadership skills with expertise in coaching, mentoring, and conflict management
  • Knowledge of healthcare operations, telemetry workflows, and resource management
  • Ability to manage budgets and use data for decision-making
  • Strong understanding of quality, safety, compliance, and accreditation standards
