Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Manager

Our client is a fast-growing manufacturer in the Atlanta area. Reporting directly to the executive team, this Controller position is a hands-on opportunity where you will oversee the financial operations of the firm including but not limited to; accounting operations such as A/R and A/P, GL, budgeting, cash flow reporting, financial reporting and analysis, compliance, and internal controls. Candidates are expected to be in the office most of the time and should be based in or around Metro Atlanta.

• Oversee daily accounting functions including but not limited to; regular close cycles, financial statement preparation, balance sheet and cash flow statement reviews, yearly internal and external audit processes, A/P, A/R, and budgeting.
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision making for firm leadership. Prepare reports in internal financial reporting system related to financial performance, variances, and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and chemical manufacturing regulatory requirements. Develop, maintain, and monitor internal control systems to ensure accurate financial reporting processes and program effectiveness. Make corrections as necessary to maintain integrity of company assets.
• Work closely with the executive team to develop and implement operations policies and procedures for accounting and finance departments and provide recommendations for financial strategy and risk management improvement initiatives.
• Identify process improvement initiatives to enhance effectiveness of financial operations and financial systems/reporting tools
• Provide work supervision and mentorship to junior accounting team members to ensure efficient execution of daily accounting and finance functions. Provide strategic planning for career advancement.

• Bachelor’s in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Master’s and/or CPA is preferred.
• 7+ years of hands‑on accounting or financial management experience
• 3+ years of managerial experience leading accounting and finance teams
• Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems
• Strong track record of success managing accounting functions, financial reporting operations, and maintaining GAAP and regulatory compliance
• Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently with little oversight to make business impacting decisions. Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while adhering to budgets and timelines.
• Ability to form cohesive working relationships with various internal stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
