Studio of Ruth – Youth Arts Instructor (After-School Program) Company Description
Studio of Ruth (SOR) is a creative education studio in Atlanta dedicated to empowering youth through hands‑on arts education and entrepreneurship. Through programs in sewing, painting, pottery, and creative business development, Studio of Ruth helps students build confidence, practical skills, and creative independence. The studio also hosts camps, workshops, and community initiatives that equip young people to express themselves and develop real‑world creative skills.
Role DescriptionStudio of Ruth is seeking two Youth Arts Instructors to support an after‑school creative program. Instructors will guide students through hands‑on projects in sewing, pottery, and painting
, assist with materials and equipment, and help maintain a structured and encouraging classroom environment.
Both instructors should be comfortable supporting beginner‑level creative projects and working closely with students as they explore different art forms. One instructor will help guide lesson flow while the second instructor supports students during project work and hands‑on practice.
This is an in‑person role located in the Austell / Mableton area (West of Atlanta).
Time Commitment- 8‑week program
- Tuesdays: 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM
- Applicants should be able to commit to the full 8‑week program.
- Payment is distributed in two installments:
- • First payment after Week 2
- • Remaining balance at the end of the 8‑week program
- Assist students with beginner‑level sewing, pottery, and painting projects
- Support safe use of creative tools, materials, and equipment
- Help maintain an organized and positive classroom environment
- Encourage creativity, confidence, and participation among students
- Support classroom management and student engagement
- Communicate classroom needs or concerns with the program director
- Interest or experience in sewing, pottery, painting, or other creative arts
- Experience working with children or youth programs preferred
- Reliable, patient, and comfortable guiding beginner learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Passion for arts education and creative expression
