Laser Operator
As the Fabrication Machine Operator for the Laser at Layer Zero Power Systems, you will be responsible for using laser‑based equipment to create our products and parts and perform tests. It will be in a fast‑paced environment that includes setting up, maintaining, and operating the machine while ensuring quality and safety in the workplace.
Requirements Primary Duties- Responsible for all aspects of sheet metal production via laser/punch combination machine;
Production of blanks. - Load / unload machine.
- Work with production engineering to pull nested programs for production.
- Separate, label, and catalog completed parts upon unload.
- Daily start-up & shut-down procedure.
- Daily end‑of‑day clean-up of machine.
- Regular maintenance of tools; lenses.
- Manage assist gas. Schedule for replenishment when the spare bank is used.
- Catalog and shelve remnants.
- Floor cleaning in surrounding area.
- Quality inspecting parts and materials.
- 5+ years of experience in operation of equipment required.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/prints.
- Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers.
- Ability to understand machine programs.
- Ability to modify machine programs.
- Ability to use PC for basic editing; logging.
- Experience with automation.
- Experience/knowledge of laser machines.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in CNC machining preferred.
