Description : The Service Technician II position performs both skilled and semi‑skilled manual labor activities of the City of Aurora's Parks & Recreation Department. This is a full‑time position that may require overtime, depending on department/project needs, deadline objectives, inclement weather, etc. This position requires a 12‑month probationary period.

This is a labor intensive position that requires a high school diploma or GED, as well as a minimum of one (1) year experience in the operation of light and heavy equipment with prior landscaping experience desired, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, or training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position.

A valid Ohio Driver's License with a safe driving record is also required. A current Class B CDL is preferred at hire, or one must be obtained within one (1) year of hire.

The 2026 union hourly rate is $27.59, with external hires paid a probationary rate of 95% of union rate (2026 rate $26.21/hr.) for the first 12 months of employment. A full benefits package, including medical/Rx, dental, and vision coverage after 30 days of employment; and city‑paid life insurance upon hire.
