Desktop Support Technician

Overview

This is an entry-to-mid level IT Support/Helpdesk role where you’ll mostly handle fixing, maintaining, and supporting computer systems and users.

$21.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Pay range: $20-22/hr

Duration: 3+ Months (Potential Extension)

• Fixes and maintains computers, laptops, and other hardware.
• Installs or updates software when needed.
• Helps with user accounts (like passwords, access rights, and security).
• Trains employees on how to use systems or tools.
• Figures out why a computer or system isn’t working, and either repairs it or orders replacement parts.
• Suggets the right products or services for users based on their needs.

• Usually needs an Associate’s degree (2 years of college) or similar experience.
• Works well for someone with 0–3 years of experience in IT support or related work.

• Uses standard IT practices (nothing too advanced).
• Follows instructions and guidelines (not expected to make big independent decisions).
• Reports to a manager or team lead.
