Intern Operations

Job Description

The Operations Intern will support the Service Center Operations department and will gain exposure to equipment management, transportation coordination and operations planning.

• Other duties and projects, as assigned.
• Under supervision, assist in the planning, supervision, and control of available resources associated with the timely, damage‑free, and safe loading/unloading of freight on assigned shifts.
• Gain understanding of load planning safety and maintenance.
• Assist in job task assignment according to unloading and loading schedules.
• Gain exposure to work assignment coordination, and performance monitoring.
• Provide a clean, safe working environment for all personnel and visiting customers.

• Must be pursuing a college degree, required.
• Supply Chain and Business majors, preferred.
• Minimum 2.5 GPA, preferred.

• No prior experience necessary.

• Basic computer skills, required.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required.

• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship for employment upon hire, required.

• This is a part‑time position that will average fewer than 30 hours per week. Work hours will be scheduled to support a 24/7 operation.

• Minimal (0%-25%).

• This is an hourly position paid weekly.

In accordance with the Illinois Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the pay for this position is $17.79 an hour.
