Marketing Intern - Ameri Corps Program
The Marketing Intern supports the Development team by assisting with marketing, communications, and storytelling initiatives that promote the mission, programs, and community impact of Boys & Girls Clubs of North Central Illinois. This role offers hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, branding, and community engagement while building professional skills in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the creation of marketing and promotional materials, including flyers, newsletters, and digital content
- Support social media planning, scheduling, and content development
- Gather stories, photos, and testimonials that highlight Club programs, youth impact, and events
- Assist with website updates and content organization as needed
- Support marketing efforts for fundraising events, campaigns, and community outreach initiatives
- Collaborate with Club staff to ensure brand consistency across all materials
- Assist with tracking engagement metrics and organizing marketing data
- Perform other marketing and development-related duties as assigned
- Gain hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing and communications
- Develop skills in content creation, branding, and audience engagement
- Learn how marketing strategies support fundraising and mission advancement
- Build professional communication, project management, and collaboration skills
Time Commitment:
- Complete a minimum of 900 hours during the service term (09/01/2024 - 08/31/2025).
- Participate in mandatory Days of Service.
- Complete hours during direct service times at designated sites, including after-school programs, non-school days, special events, and family engagement activities.
Educational Award/Scholarship: $3,697.50 (upon completion of the service term, which can be applied toward college tuition or student loans)
Requirements
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Current student or recent graduate in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in nonprofit work and youth development
- Familiarity with social media platforms; graphic design experience is a plus
- Organized, creative, and detail-oriented
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
