Facilities Supervisor - Aurora, IL

Job Overview

The Facilities Supervisor is primarily responsible for creating and maintaining the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Program in Aurora and overseeing building security, including keycard access and video surveillance systems. The Supervisor will also build relationships with third‑party contractors for preventive maintenance of the material handling fleet, doors and docks, heating and cooling, MRO vending, fire safety, pest control, and other building services.

The role is accountable for the safe, efficient, and economical operation of the facility and equipment, ensuring employees and guests can enter and exit the building safely and that leasehold agreements are complied with. All required training and documentation to support the program will be a deliverable for the facility team.

The Facility Supervisor will act as a backup and provide coverage for shift supervisors when required, rotating with other supervisors to support weekend coverage during vacations.

• Utilize direct reports to fulfill the daily, weekly, and monthly safety and security program requirements.
• Ensure safety issues are addressed at startup meetings.
• Plan and execute Gemba walks and Kaizen events.
• Update keycard access based on new hires and terminated employees.
• Conduct weekly shift meetings.
• Interact with the DC manager, Assistant DC Manager, and facility managers and supervisors to establish goals and objectives.
• Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution, and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding DC operations.
• Generate weekly efficiency and productivity reports and other distribution reports as needed.

• Industrial Engineering, Logistics, or comparable job experience.
• A minimum of 5 years of distribution experience in a warehouse or manufacturing plant.
• Intermediate skills in MS Excel, such as creating graphs and charts.
• Intermediate skills in MS Word such as using tables, columns, breaks, graphics, fields, headers and footers, working with margins, page orientation, and spelling/grammar.
• Intermediate skills in MS PowerPoint.
• Previous Safety/EHS experience preferred.
• Previous Continuous Improvement experience preferred.
