This is a full-time on-site role for a Product Demonstrator – Inkjet Production Specialist, located in the Greater Chicago Area. The role involves demonstrating SCREEN’s industry-leading production-class inkjet printing technology to potential clients and stakeholders, delivering training sessions, creating customer samples and providing customer support. The Demonstrator will also assist in showcasing the features and capabilities of SCREEN’s product lineup during sales engagements with customers, ensuring excellent communication and customer service.
Collaboration with the sales and technical teams to meet client needs is a critical component of this role.
- Demonstrate and explain products and prepare demonstrations to ensure that they will run smoothly.
- Create samples from customer supplied artwork.
- Record and report sample and demonstration-related information to Sales reps and Sales Engineers.
- Support Sales and Sales Engineers as needed based on knowledge and experience.
- Support Sales Engineers and Support Engineers with any unique and/or complex problems.
- Maintain good equipment condition for demonstration and sample making.
- Perform scheduled maintenance as required by equipment condition.
- Open support calls and follow-up on machine status when products require service.
- Support the Service department by providing feedback and/or live support during open calls.
- Maintain technical skills by striving to continuously build knowledge by assessing own strengths and weaknesses and pursuing training and development opportunities.
- Follow safety guidelines and department and corporate policies and procedures.
- Keep work areas neat and clean.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the assigned equipment.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the substrates.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of color management.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the print industry.
- Have an outgoing personality, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, self-confidence and attention to detail when demonstrating the equipment.
- Communicate in a professional manner with customers.
- Must have ability to work in a team environment with other demonstrators.
- Comprehend a variety of instructions, both oral and written.
- Be able to travel for trade shows, support calls or special assignments relating to the sales effort of the equipment.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office products and presentation applications.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools.
- Associate Degree of Graphic Arts/Printing science or Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Arts/Printing science or 3 - 5 years' experience with digital press or pre-press operations.
- Sitting, walking, stooping, bending, and reaching.
- Dexterity to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists.
- Movement by holding, turning, and grasping objects.
- Frequent reaching by extending hands in any direction.
- Ability to drive a car and travel by air.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to hear normal conversations on phone or in person.
- Ability to see more than 20 feet.
- Ability to see color and see/read computer screen.
