Job SummaryThe Felsen, Poleg-Polsky and Scholl labs in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics are seeking to hire a Research Services Professional (RSP) across any rank of entry, intermediate, or senior professional. This position would join a team focused on understanding the functions of neurons and circuits in the retina and the early visual system. This position offers collaboration across multiple laboratories, combining ex-vivo and in-vivo electrophysiology and two-photon imaging, cellular and circuit modeling, and rodent visual behaviors.
In addition to understanding normal function, we are interested in degenerative neurological conditions leading to alterations in visual processing.
- Whole-cell patch-clamp electrophysiology
- Two-photon calcium imaging of cellular populations and synaptic inputs
- Electroretinogram measurements
- Equipment maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
- Software development to support experiments
- Biophysical modeling and construction of machine learning-based models
- Statistical analysis of single-cell and population-level recordings
- Collaborate with and support Principal Investigators (PI) and other stakeholders with laboratory and research functions
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in neuroscience, biophysics, bioengineering, psychobiology or related field
- Intermediate-level:
One (1) year professional level research experience - Senior-level:
Two (2) years professional level research experience
A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications- Master's degree in neuroscience, biophysics, psychobiology or related field
- Intermediate-level:
Two (2) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory - Senior-level:
Three (3) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory - Experience with Electrophysiology and/or Imaging.
- Experience with chronic stereotaxic surgeries, and AAV injection of GCaMP in the brain.
- Experience with awake behaving recording of neural signals.
- Experience with analysis of neural data.
- Experience in Histological techniques.
- Experience in Neurological Modeling.
- Experience with Python, Mat Lab, Igor Pro or similar coding languages.
- Experience with Tensor Flow, PyTorch or similar frameworks.
- Experience with computational neuroscience, including programming GENESIS, NEURON and MCell.
Skills and Abilities
- Intermediate-level:
