Salary: The rank and salary grade reflected on the posting effective Jan 1, 2026 are:
- Registered Nurse: $66,010.10 – $99,015.02 annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
- Senior Registered Nurse: $76,877.06 – $ annually, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
This position will specifically work in the Nurse Liaison Program, a nurse home‑visiting program that provides public health nursing services in the home setting to children and their families. The nurse liaison assists the Arapahoe County Department of Human Services (ACDHS) by conducting home visits, performing public health nursing assessments on referred families, and documenting findings in required reporting programs. The role requires transportation for home visits and close collaboration with ACDHS case workers to create care plans and provide education and resources.
DutiesDirect Patient Care
- Provides safe, effective, evidence‑based patient care, including accurate documentation and referrals.
- Performs direct care during home visits.
- Maintains medical expertise and follows established guidelines aligned with evidence‑based practices.
- Collaborates with team members to provide resources and care options within the home setting and escalates care situations as appropriate.
- Documents patient cases and complies with timely documentation standards.
- Participates in grant deliverables and provides patient care and consultation with human services.
- Collaborates with community members (schools, childcare, and providers) to form partnerships that improve community health outcomes.
- Responds to public health emergencies, incidents, and events as required.
- Participates in all emergency preparedness drills and completes required trainings.
- Serves in a lead capacity while performing registered nurse duties.
- Provides program leadership and on‑site supervision of day‑to‑day activities of assigned programs.
- Assesses complex issues, acts as liaison between nurses and program leadership, and recommends policy changes.
- Co‑ordinates nursing personnel with adjacent program areas to facilitate staffing coverage.
- Instructs staff in methods, techniques, and procedures utilized in assigned programs.
- Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. - Must be licensed or within 3 months of licensure as a registered nurse in Colorado or a Compact State.
- BLS and CPR certification.
- At least 6 years of nursing, public health nursing, or related community/clinical experience for senior role.
- Preferred:
Master’s degree.
- Strong case management, nursing assessment, and health education skills.
- Excellent communication and rapport building with diverse populations.
- Ability to deliver sensitive messages compassionately and remain calm during emergencies.

- Pass pre‑employment testing, including an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR) and background check.
- Maintain up‑to‑date training, certifications, and licensure.

- Manual dexterity for examinations and charting.
