Work hours for this position will be Monday through Thursday, 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, and Friday, 12:00 pm to 8:30 pm. This position may require occasional shifts outside of the regular shift to meet department needs. The role requires exertion of up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects such as lifting trash, pushing cleaning equipment, and moving furniture.
It also requires constant or frequent climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and reaching. The successful candidate must be able to follow verbal communications and read and comprehend written directions on labels, machinery, and manuals. Position is eligible for shift differential pay for all applicable hours.
- Regular rate applies when work hours fall between 6:00 am and 4:00 pm (no shift differential).
- Second shift differential rate (7.5%) applies when half or more of the scheduled work hours fall between 4:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
- Third shift differential rate (14%) applies when half or more of the scheduled work hours fall between 11:00 pm and 6:00 am.
- Weekend differential rate (20%) applies when more than half of the scheduled shift hours fall on a weekend shift (4:00 pm Friday through 6:00 am Monday).
Primary duties and responsibilities include: cleaning and maintaining campus facilities such as classrooms, closets, restrooms, offices, door hardware, and all public areas; vacuuming carpets and floor matting; dusting, mopping, and disinfecting hard surfaces; polishing and detailing furniture, fixtures, and appliances; using specified chemicals for different spills; emptying pencil sharpeners, collecting trash, and replacing liners; replenishing paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap;
cleaning whiteboards and trays; stocking markers and erasers; straightening and returning furniture to proper position; changing bags on vacuums and replacing wet and dry mop heads; keeping custodial closet and housekeeping cart orderly; ensuring security of assigned areas; cleaning interior and exterior windows, blinds, door frames, etc.; buffing, stripping, or shampooing hard surfaces; operating custodial equipment such as floor scrubbers and carpet extractors;
assisting with snow removal and sweeping entryways; reporting maintenance problems to the supervisor; performing all other housekeeping duties as assigned; utilizing computer to check daily work orders, complete timesheets, and manage leave requests.

Minimum QualificationsExperience Only:
- Six (6) months of custodial experience. Explain use and care of custodial equipment in detail on your application.
- Must be able to perform strenuous physical labor.
- Ability to work as part of a team and as an individual contributor; self‑motivated.
- Willingness to work different shifts (day/night/weekend) as required.
