Aurora Mental Health & Recovery (AMHR) is seeking a part-time Custodian to join our Facilities team. The custodian will help maintain the cleanliness and appearance of our facilities and properties and perform custodial maintenance duties. ScheduleThis is an on-site position working Monday - Friday, approximately 30 hours per week, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm.
SalaryStarting wage is based on tenure with AMHR. Employees progress through a range based on building length of service with the organization.

Our Facilities Division is made up of several programs, including project and facilities management, purchasing, maintenance, safety, and custodial services. The team provides daily support to staff and clients. They believe in assisting our employees and clients to experience comfort and productvity, by maintaining a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing facility while being mindful of costs and efficiencies, one room at a time.
EssentialFunction
- Perform general, routine custodial duties, including dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms and kitchen areas, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
- Maintain the exterior appearance of properties by picking up trash and sweeping parking lots.
- Empty trash receptacles, dispose of trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bag trash for proper disposal.
- Unlock doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.
- Report needs and concerns to appropriate staff; submit or recommend work orders and check supply levels.
- Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
- Perform cleaning functions specific to the assigned facilities and/or based on seasonal/project requirements.
- May provide vendors with access to areas for cleaning and may answer basic questions.
- May report issues with vendors to supervisor. May assist in adjusting conference room chairs or furniture for meetings or other similar activities.
- Promote a safety-oriented culture.
Requirements:
- Preferred:
High School Diploma/GED. - Entry level position - no experience required.
- Preferred: three to six months' custodial experience.
- Ability to understand written and verbal communications and instructions.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.>
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
AMHR has prioritized the health and safety of our clients and staff and requires all employees to receive an annual influenza (flu) shot and receive negative TB test results before their first day of hire. Proof of the Flu shot and a negative TB test will be required upon your first day of employment. Medical or religious exemptions may be requested.
