We support all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technicians as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This trainee must report to a site location and participate in our 12‑month work and training program in Frederick, MD.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds.
  • Work 24/7, including primary responder rotation and after‑hours support.
  • Work in cramped, elevated, noisy environments.
  • Bend, lift, stretch, reach, stand, and walk for up to 8+ hours a day.
  • Ascend and descend ladders, stairs, and gangways safely.
  • Tolerate temperature fluctuations in non‑climate‑controlled environments.
  • Complete the 12‑month WBLP training curriculum, including safety certifications, technical competencies, and performance milestones.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Move and implement large enterprise equipment.
  • Install fiber and copper cabling and patch cables between equipment.
  • Ensure proper safety and security standards during cabling and rack installation.
  • Follow established hardware installation procedures and perform break‑fix activities.
  • Use material handling tools and equipment safely.
  • Coordinate with third‑party contractors.
  • Travel within the regional work area using a personal vehicle.
A Day in the Life

Success in this role requires technical aptitude, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people. You must possess analytical skills, problem‑solving ability, initiative, judgment, and diplomacy. You will work shifts that include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, and must maintain a reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license.

Basic Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 18 years of age or older.
  • Willingness to participate in shift rotations to support 24/7 data center operations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems.
  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with a manager.
  • STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications.
