How You’ll Make An ImpactMill Rock is seeking a skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. If you are passionate about technology and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you! As an infrastructure specialist, you will be responsible for supporting MRP’s move to in-house RIMM (Remote Infrastructure Monitoring and Management) and help desk, as well as the new structure on a go-forward basis.
In addition, you will provide on-site IT support as needed to our Mountain Region plants in Aurora, CO and Salt Lake City, UT.
The Systems Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and reliable operation of computer systems and servers.
Network/Infrastructure management- Support migration of RIMM to Solar Winds software and utilize tools to monitor, evaluate and manage health of devices on the network.
- Assist with server and endpoint management utilizing PDQ software.
- Support Citrix and ERP application maintenance and utilization.
- Assist with migration of help desk from external to internal coverage, utilizing Jit Bit software.
- In collaboration with other IT team members, monitor, resolve and document help desk requests in a timely manner.
- Provide plant-level users with on-site support by addressing printer, laptop, phone and other technical issues.
- Repair and maintain server hardware.
- Troubleshoot network issues and resolve as needed.
- Utilize innovative ways of supporting the business by identifying and implementing tools and processes.
- Collaborate with IT teammates to support new and existing applications, as well as the development of IT governance.
What it takes to succeed:
Education And Experience- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology (IT), or a related field.
- Minimum of 2+ years in an IT role preferred, but will consider a new graduate.
- Have broad-based technical knowledge in storage and backup solutions, host systems, networks, applications, data, and security.
- Knowledge of Windows server environments, server virtualization, Group Policy and Active Directory management.
- Understanding of networking concepts (L2 and L3 layers, VLANs, etc.)
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
- Strong desire to learn from teammates, grow technically, and share knowledge with others.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a strong attention to detail.
- Customer service-oriented, both internally and externally.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work and communicate at all levels.
- Flexible, dynamic approach to the role; able to shift priorities as business needs dictate.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a highly collaborative team.
- Strong sense of urgency, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Scheduling flexibility to meet the needs of the business, including occasional evenings, weekends, holidays.
Our teammates come from diverse backgrounds that help us innovate new possibilities daily. While the qualifications listed below are preferred, they are not required.
- Familiarity with Solar Winds, PDQ, Jit Bit.
- Experienced with VMWare, Nutanix, HyperV
- Experience supporting an industrial manufacturing organization, preferably printing, packaging or related industries to Mill Rock’s core business.
