Site Coordinator – Phoenix

Job Summary

Join the Colorado School of Public Health as a Site Coordinator (Intermediate – Senior Professional). This role is a key member of the Life course Epidemiology of Adiposity & Diabetes (LEAD) Center at the University of Colorado Anschutz Campus, working with the Diabetes Prevention Program Outcomes Study (DPPOS) clinic in Phoenix, AZ.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review eligibility reports and schedule study participants for phone, in-person, and imaging visits.
  • Collect physical measurements, blood, and urine samples; process samples and ship to the central lab.
  • Administer cognitive testing and health‑related questionnaires.
  • Act as primary contact for study participants and conduct retention efforts.
  • Perform data entry of visit forms and resolve data edits in a timely manner.
  • Carry out study activities in compliance with NIH IRB policies and the DPPOS protocol.
  • Manage gift card program, including approval, purchasing, and reconciliation of disbursements.
  • Complete purchasing and travel expense reports with university administrative oversight.
  • Full‑time (1.0 FTE) position that reports to the Associate Director of Research.
Work Location

Onsite – This position is based in Phoenix, AZ with periodic day travel for recruitment and visits, and occasional out of state travel for trainings and national meetings.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements – Intermediate Level
  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 1 year of experience in a research or clinical setting working with human subjects or patients.
  • Willingness to be trained to draw blood and process blood and urine samples.
Minimum Requirements – Senior Level
  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • 2 years of experience in a research or clinical setting working with human subjects or patients.
  • Willingness to be trained to draw blood and process blood and urine samples.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience following a research or clinical protocol.
  • Experience drawing and processing blood.
  • Experience working with Native American populations.
  • Experience interacting with the NIH IRB.
  • Experience working with an elderly population.
  • Experience administering oral glucose tolerance tests.
  • Knowledge of chronic diseases such as diabetes and obesity.
Conditions of Employment
  • Position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional home visits.
  • Ability for occasional overnight travel with advanced notice to attend national study meetings and trainings.
  • Ability to flex work schedule to accommodate study participant clinic visits scheduled for early mornings and weekends.
