This is a full-time faculty position in the CU DCAMH/PMHI/CHCO outpatient clinic, focused on transforming children s mental health care with evidence-based, youth- and family-centered services.

Job Summary

The CU DCAMH, PMHI, and CHCO are forming comprehensive outpatient specialty care programs and seek a behavioral health clinician to join the effort to become a national leader in the assessment and treatment of youth mental health concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical care to patients and families, including completing diagnostic evaluations and providing individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Engage in ongoing treatment monitoring, collaborate with other providers involved in a patient s care, and conduct disposition planning.
  • Maintain timely communication with team members, supervisor, and leadership.
  • Attend team meetings and educational in-services.
  • Enter appropriate notes and charge captures that comply with state and federal standards in the medical record for all patients seen.
  • Engage in quality improvement projects.
  • Serve on committees, task forces, and/or work groups.

Supervision

Supervision Received: The Outpatient Behavioral Health Clinician reports to the PMHI Clinical Director, Dr. Jessica Hawks.

Supervision Exercised: The Clinician will not supervise staff, but there are opportunities to supervise, mentor, and train mental health trainees.

Work Location

Onsite role located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below. Academic rank will be determined during the interview process through discussion with the department.

  • Instructor
    :
    1) 1–3 years of relevant clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience;
    2) Master s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related field;
    3) Colorado License or eligible for licensure in Colorado (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).
  • Senior Instructor
    :
    1) 1–3 years of relevant clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience;
    2) Master s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, or related field;
    3) Colorado License or eligible for licensure in Colorado (LCSW, LPC, LMFT).

Preferred Qualifications (applicable for all ranks):

  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience working with youth and families post-licensure.
  • Experience providing evidence-based assessment and treatment to youth with mental health concerns and their families.
  • Interest in engaging in clinical, teaching, scholarship, and service across the academic mission.

  • Clinical knowledge and experience in evidence-based assessment and treatment of youth mental health concerns and families in outpatient settings.
