Part-time Research Associate
Department: Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus
Position #: – Hybrid (1-2 days on campus; 3 days remote)
Job Summary: Research Audiologist will recruit, track, and assess infants and young children with typical and atypical hearing. Key responsibilities include audiometric testing, psychoacoustic experiments, data management, grant writing, IRB protocol development, and training junior staff.
Responsibilities- Recruit, track, and test infants and young children with typical and atypical hearing.
- Conduct comprehensive audiometry (pure tone, speech), middle‑ear immittance, otoacoustic emissions, and auditory evoked potentials.
- Fit amplification, verify and validate hearing aids and cochlear implants.
- Execute psychoacoustic experiments (tonal detection, masking, spectral/temporal resolution, pitch discrimination).
- Enter, manage, and analyze data.
- Assist in manuscript development and grant writing.
- Write and maintain IRB protocols.
- Train and supervise junior research associates, students, and postdoc researchers.
- Calibrate equipment and oversee calibration timetables.
- Ph.D. in Auditory Sciences, Neuroscience, or related field.
- 2+ years experience in pediatric audiology or lab research.
- Colorado state licensure in audiology.
- Experience with computational skills (MATLAB, Python, R).
- Strong research design, hypothesis development, and methods to test hypotheses.
