Job Summary
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus has an opening for a PRN MFM sonographer at 0.2 FTE. This position provides support to the freestanding Maternal Fetal Medicine clinic located in Downtown Denver, Littleton, Parker, and Fort Collins. It reports directly to the MFM Practice Manager and indirectly to the Medical Directors and the Division Administrative Director.
The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm or 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with no on‑call obligation. Each clinic has two sonographers onsite each day; each sonographer covers one room with an average of eight patient scans per day. Clinics are equipped with GE Voluson 22 or GE Voluson E10s, with ViewPoint reporting software that interfaces with EPIC for the EMR system.
The MFM follows AIUM guidelines and operates as an AIUM accredited ultrasound practice.
- Perform independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations on high‑risk obstetrical patients who will be subsequently evaluated and treated by a Maternal Fetal Medicine attending physician.
- Prepare preliminary reports for physician review and verify data obtained from the ultrasound.
- Review and triage referrals alongside schedulers and MFM providers to determine urgency in scheduling.
Onsite: the role is expected to work onsite and will cover clinics located in the Denver Metro area and Fort Collins based on coverage needs.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
- 2 years of ultrasound technician experience.
- Fetal Echo Certified or candidate willing to obtain a valid and current Fetal Echocardiogram certification within 12–16 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience and training in Maternal Fetal Medicine‑level ultrasound scans.
- Experience working with ViewPoint ultrasound reporting system.
- Nuchal Translucency certification.
- CLEAR certification.
- Bilingual, Spanish‑speaking.
