Position SummaryPharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.
Responsibilities – Essential Duties- Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures.
- Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
- Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique.
- Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
- Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
- Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.
- Assists in training/mentoring of new IV Technicians as assigned.
- Working knowledge of the technical field/area of specialization.
- Exercises general application of principles, theories, and concepts.
- Follows established procedures and guidelines.
- Works under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
- Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
- May require limited judgment in resolving problems.
- Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, peers, and subordinates.
- Sterile compounding experience is not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.
- High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
- 0–2 years related experience.
- Applicable industry/professional certification.
- Regular and predictable on‑site attendance.
- cGMP training/experience desired; training will be provided.
- Aseptic processing training/experience desired; training will be provided.
- Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician License issued by DORA (provisional license not acceptable).
- Active Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA.
- Schedule:
7:30 AM–4 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, varied days, rotating weekends/holidays; overtime as needed. - Salary range: $18.65–$25.02 per hour.
- Moderate work – exerting up to 40 lb of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lb of force frequently, and/or 10 lb force constantly to move objects.
The preceding functions are examples of the types of work performed. The employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
