Pharmacy Technician – Sterile Compounding

Pharmacy Technician prepares compounded sterile products and performs related activities under the direction of a pharmacist.

• Adheres to all CAPS policies and procedures.
• Prepares compounded sterile products using aseptic technique.
• Assists in the setup of the compounding room, equipment, and supplies for preparation of compounded sterile solutions, using aseptic technique.
• Performs general cleaning and maintenance duties as directed.
• Participates in cleanroom product introduction activities.
• Prepares records and monitors results for pharmaceutical quality assurance testing.

• Assists in training/mentoring of new IV Technicians as assigned.

• Working knowledge of the technical field/area of specialization.
• Exercises general application of principles, theories, and concepts.
• Follows established procedures and guidelines.
• Works under direct supervision and from detailed verbal and/or written instructions.
• Uses established procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
• May require limited judgment in resolving problems.
• Contacts are primarily with direct supervisor, peers, and subordinates.
• Sterile compounding experience is not required; training will be provided to the right candidate.

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.
• 0–2 years related experience.
• Applicable industry/professional certification.
• Regular and predictable on‑site attendance.
• cGMP training/experience desired; training will be provided.
• Aseptic processing training/experience desired; training will be provided.
• Active Colorado Pharmacy Technician License issued by DORA (provisional license not acceptable).
• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification issued by PTCB or NHA.

• Schedule:
  
  7:30 AM–4 PM or 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, varied days, rotating weekends/holidays; overtime as needed.
• Salary range: $18.65–$25.02 per hour.

• Moderate work – exerting up to 40 lb of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lb of force frequently, and/or 10 lb force constantly to move objects.

The preceding functions are examples of the types of work performed. The employee may be required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
