Position: Bilingual Data Collector - Research Services Professional (Entry/Intermediate)

Job Summary

The Adult and Child Center for Outcomes Research and Delivery Science (ACCORDS) is searching for a dynamic and motivated Data Collector to join the growing Family Matters team (Principal Investigator: Dr. Jerica Berge). This is a great opportunity to be a part of National Institutes of Health (NIH) funded research that is making a difference in the lives of families with school-aged children around Denver, CO and the Twin Cities, MN.

You will play a vital role in supporting recruitment and retention efforts, as well as data collection on a large scale longitudinal cohort study and innovative clinical trial. These studies utilize innovative data collection methods to examine risk and protective factors for childhood health in low‑income and minority households. The position reports to the Project Director and will involve family visits at times they are available, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends as requested by families.

Key Responsibilities
  • 50% Recruitment, Data Collection and Management
    • Lead efforts to retain study participants over the course of participation (12–18 months), including developing outreach processes, coordinating schedules, tracking progress, reporting results, updating Red Cap, conducting data quality checks, and managing incentive delivery.
    • Collect virtual anthropometric and survey data from families at 0, 6, and 12 months.
    • Collect biological data such as anthropometry, hair samples, and blood pressure, and coordinate blood sample collection from parent and child participants.
  • 15% Serve as Staff Lead for Sibling Data Collection
    • Serve as the resource for sibling data collection, developing and maintaining protocols, training staff, and reporting weekly progress to the Project Director and PI.
  • 10% Staff Training and Virtual Measurement Lead
    • Train and certify staff in collecting virtual heights, weights, and neck circumference.
    • Conduct ongoing review and provide feedback to data collectors on virtual measurements.
  • 10% Protocol Development
    • Assist PI and Project Director in developing detailed data collection protocols and monitoring implementation.
    • Provide creative solutions to participant barriers and revise protocols accordingly.
    • Conduct periodic protocol assessments for quality improvement.
  • 10% Study Operations Support
    • Attend weekly team meetings, assist with data entry, and provide additional operational support as needed.
    • Use data and monitoring tools for proactive problem solving.
    • Adapt implementation plans to address emerging study needs.
    • Maintain meticulous study documentation.
  • 5% Translation
    • Translate data collection materials such as participant handouts and recruitment materials as needed.
Work Location

Hybrid – eligible for 2–3 days per week on campus and as needed for in‑person meetings.
