Pharmacy Technician
A-Team Solutions LLC is seeking Pharmacy Technicians for a contract at the VA Rocky Mountain Healthcare System in Aurora, CO. Full‑Time hours for 1 year with possible extension, shifts vary. Start will be upon approval and credentialing. Technicians must be flexible with schedules.
Duties and Responsibilities- Possess technical knowledge of drug and medication brand names, generic names/chemical names, general and special storage requirements, expiration date requirements, manufacturer/distributor sources, dosage forms, applicable systems of weights and measures, and medical terminology to interpret providers' orders and verify correct drug, dosage form, strength and dose is prepared and/or distributed; working knowledge of drug use and dosage forms available to be able to screen drug orders for propriety and assist the pharmacist in solving potential drug related problems.
- Train on and use hospital computer system(s), specifically the applicable VISTA and CPRS and processing options (e.g., BCMA, unit dose, outpatient prescription processing including Script Pro dispensing machine, IV admixtures, etc.) and the operation of automated dispensing equipment including Omnicell.
- Under the supervision of a pharmacist, pharmacy technicians perform routine pharmacy functions including receiving prescriptions from patients in writing or electronically from physicians.
- Processing and filling inpatient and outpatient prescriptions for scheduled and non‑scheduled federal legend drugs and medical devices, over‑the‑counter products and supply items.
- Operation, maintenance, re‑stocking and troubleshooting of automated dispensing equipment.
- Pharmacy technicians prepare prescriptions by counting, pouring, weighing, measuring, and mixing the medication if necessary. Pharmacy technicians maintain patient profiles, stock, and take inventory of medications.
- Pharmacy technicians prepare medications for inpatients in various settings, including sterile product preparation and chemotherapy.

RequirementsCertified by the National Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) and have one‑year experience in a hospital pharmacy setting with an emphasis on sterile IV compounding; and be a graduate of an Academic Technician Training Educational Program.
