Job Overview

University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus – Department of Psychiatry – Clinical Psychologist – half‑time faculty (unclassified).

Job Summary

This faculty position includes direct clinical care, teaching, supervision, program development, and research. The focus is on integrated in‑person and tele‑behavioral health services for children, adolescents, and young adults with Down syndrome and their families within an academic medical center setting. Rank is commensurate with experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in person or virtual behavioral health services.
  • Provide trainings on the neurodevelopmental profile of individuals with Down syndrome and behaviorally based methods to support individuals with Down syndrome and their families.
  • Use evidence‑based assessment and treatment approaches for children, adolescents, and young adults with Down syndrome and a wide range of behavioral, developmental, and mental health concerns.
  • Engage in teaching and scholarship, including collaboration on grants and contracts with hospital and community partners.

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of related clinical experience at rank or equivalent experience.
  • Colorado Psychologist License or eligibility for licensure in Colorado.
  • Minimum degree qualifications:
    Completed PhD and/or PsyD from an APA‑approved program, including an APA‑approved internship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience after a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology and/or child and adolescent psychology.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations with medical complexity and their families.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations with neurodevelopmental and intellectual disabilities and their families.
  • Demonstrated skills using evidence‑based treatment models, including motivational strategies and consultation models.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team model and with colleagues, medical specialists, and trainees.
  • Experience and skill in consulting with professional colleagues and staff.
  • Strong preference for ability to deliver services in Spanish.

  • Experience developing, training, and supervising psychology trainees.

Anticipated Pay Range

For 0.5 FTE:

  • Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor: $52,500 to $60,000
  • Associate Professor: $65,000 to $72,500
  • Professor: $87,500 to $102,500
