Description

The leadership position is responsible for the College of Nursing's strategic financial direction. The Associate Dean of Finance and Business Services acts as the senior advisor to the Dean on financial matters and represents the Dean on such matters to the campus and the University. This position plans, directs, and assesses the financial operations of the College, including developing short- and long-range financial plans and projections.

The role also encompasses academic program evaluation and other fiscal analyses across complex projects, with attention to the needs of college constituencies, faculty, staff, and students. The position supports shared governance, teamwork, and creative leadership.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a senior advisor to the Dean on financial matters.
• Serve as a member of campus-wide financial committee(s) to provide insight and advice on campus-wide matters while representing the College of Nursing.
• Investigate and identify internal and external budgeting and financial information needs.
• Approve high-level fiscal and budget documents/reports for the college.
• Oversee consistent oversight, analysis, and forecasting of fiscal and budgetary aspects within the college’s clinical, research, and education enterprises.
• Formulate financial plans for programs/projects, including revenue and expenditure projections and cash flow requirements.
• Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights and visual reports for leadership and non-financial constituents.
• Serve as a liaison between the College/Dean and campus/university/external constituencies regarding financial operations.
• Set objectives, scope of service, and performance benchmarks for the Finance and Budget unit.
• Ensure compliance with campus, University, and state fiscal policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership for the effective utilization of financial resources to meet strategic objectives.
• Oversee annual budget development and long-term financial planning, including historical data analysis and future projections.
• Develop, recommend, and implement organizational policies related to financial management.
• Strategically manage and evaluate financial resources with an entrepreneurial focus on new revenue opportunities.
• Approach financial planning proactively to position the College for opportunities and challenges with emerging technologies and a changing economy.
