Civil Engineering, Water Engineer, Site Manager
At R&R Engineers Surveyors Inc., we don’t believe mid-level engineers should feel stuck between redlines and management. As a Design Engineer II, you’ll take on meaningful technical responsibility, interact directly with agencies and clients, and begin shaping projects — not just supporting them.
We design land development and civil infrastructure projects that serve Colorado communities, including private developments, municipal improvements, recreational, and educational facilities. You’ll contribute to projects that move from concept through permitting and construction.
If you’re ready to lead technical work, mentor junior engineers, and grow toward project management — this is your opportunity.
What You’ll Work On- Site grading and drainage design
- Utility system layout and coordination
- Stormwater management and drainage reports
- Construction plan preparation and submittals
- Permitting coordination with Colorado agencies
- Cost estimating and construction support
Project sizes range from smaller site developments to complex, multi-discipline projects requiring coordination with architects, landscape architects, and survey teams.
What You’ll Do- Independently perform engineering calculations for land development projects
- Prepare detailed construction documents using Civil 3D
- Develop grading plans, surface models, and utility designs
- Prepare drainage reports and stormwater management plans
- Coordinate with developers, contractors, and public agencies
- Support project schedules and budgets
- Assist with permitting and agency approvals
- Answer technical questions and mentor junior staff
You’ll have increasing autonomy — with support from experienced PEs when needed.
Growth Path & PE ProgressionThis role is designed for engineers who want forward momentum.
At R&R, you’ll receive:
- Direct mentorship from licensed Professional Engineers
- Exposure to client and agency meetings
- Increasing responsibility in project coordination
- Clear trajectory toward Project Engineer or Project Manager roles
- Support as you work toward PE licensure
We expect you to grow — and we create the environment for it.
What We’re Looking For- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- EI (EIT) certification required
- 2–5 years of land development experience (Colorado preferred)
- Proficiency in Civil 3D on AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of local agency submittal requirements
- Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and time management skills
- Initiative, accountability, and problem-solving ability
If you’re already taking ownership of design tasks and want more leadership exposure, you’ll thrive here.
- Full-time, salaried-exempt (40 hours/week)
- Collaborative, team-based culture
- Clear expectations and manageable workload
We work hard — but we build sustainable careers.
Salary Range$74,000–$86,000 (commensurate with experience)
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- 401(k) with employer match
- Paid time off and holidays
