The Spacecraft Operations Technician provides corporate knowledge to the Space Force (SF) crews as the mission payload experts for the tuning, health and safety and mission performance of the program mission sensors. This position will be based 100% on Aurora, Colorado.
Responsibilities:Provide 24/7 support to the SF crews with monitoring of sensor payload health and status, and support scheduled and unscheduled sensor commanding.
Provide mission processing assessment, real-time, and post event support of all SBIRS missions.
Provide technical advice to the SF crews on sensor capabilities and mission issues real‐time.
Ensure safety of the mission payload and each of its subsystems.
Monitor and optimize mission software processing and performance for SF crews.
Coordinate with the Mission Management Operator (MMO) and Mission Management Planner (MMP) on tasking and monitoring Area of Interest (AOI) configurations.
Review mission management activities at the start of each shift and provide the crew commander with a synopsis of the planned activities.
Coordinate any real‐time changes to the mission management plan, ensure correct operation of the mission management software during testing, and support briefing upcoming mission and commanding activities during shift changeover.
Monitor and recover Line of Sight (LOS) for both HEO and GEO payloads.
Perform tape playback and analysis for DELOG determination of event data presentation for end users.
Provide PRs in coordination with the SF and provide installation and checkout support for software installations.
Coordinate mission and sensor installations on the system to improve performance with the SF.
Provide day staff support with technical expertise in mission management in support of SBIRS GEO SV/payloads and HEO payloads, including MMO, MMP, and required mission management software and tools.
Develop Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) centered on constellation employment and provide technical support to the engineering organization regarding the implementation and maintenance of GEO/HEO scheduling rules.
Develop and validate and execute pass plan.
Basic Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience.
Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
The ability to support various shifts within a 24/7 operational environment.

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
