- Req#: 174563 Engineering Service Company (ESC) is currently seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Land Development Civil Engineering (PE) Project Manager to work in our Aurora, CO office. As a Land Development Civil Engineer (PE) with ESC, you would get to use and stretch your professional and personal skills. Our Civil Engineering Project Managers are responsible for managing multiple site development projects entirely from start to finish including budgeting, scheduling, contract document preparation, design calculations, code searches and construction administration services.
They are also responsible for mentoring and training assigned staff and working with the consultant teams. The day-to-day technical civil engineering tasks associated with this position may include, but may not be limited to, the following:
* Preparation of development design plans and civil engineering design calculations for all types of land development projects, including commercial, multi-family, industrial, and single-family residential projects. Includes supervision, guidance, and leading the firm’s team of designers and engineers.
* Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. Utilize sketches, notes and other input material to complete design drawings with minimal supervision. Perform research, write technical reports and prepare opinions of cost.
* Thorough knowledge of land development civil engineering, including the use of AutoCAD Civil3D.
* Thorough knowledge of drainage design, including use of Storm CAD, UD-Sewer, UDSWMM software, etc. Along with technical civil engineering tasks, this position may include, but may not be limited to, the following administrative tasks:
* Managing land development projects with minimal supervision and oversight.
* Building positive relationships with clients, municipal agency contacts, and co-workers to ensure effective communication.
* Project scoping, estimating, proposal preparation and budget tracking.
* Responsible for quality control of work product, scheduling of projects, and ensuring deliverables are on schedule.
* Ability to work independently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including flexibility to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or daily as changes occur based on project needs.
