Assess and provide intervention to ensure student success and promote an exemplary educational program which fosters achievement for all students.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe subsequent duties outline the fundamental operations of the position. They do not encompass a comprehensive inventory of obligations and responsibilities fulfilled in this role.
- 1. Perform counseling services including guidance services, registration, scheduling, testing/assessment, academic advisement, and orientation programs for students, parents, and staff.

Time: 50% - 2. Gather, interpret, and evaluate data for program modification and interventions.
Frequency: Daily,
Time: 20% - 3. Align assessments with state content standards.
Frequency: Daily,
Time: 10% - 4. Positively impact achievement by supporting programs designed to increase student achievement.

Time: 10% - 5. Participate collaboratively with teaching teams to help design curriculum and assessments and pursue best teaching practices.

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSThe minimum prerequisites of formal education, professional work experience, certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, trainings, and other criteria that a candidate must fulfill to be considered for a position. It is essential that certifications, licenses, endorsements, designations, and trainings are fulfilled, valid, and not expired.
- Criminal background check and fingerprinting required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Three (3) years of successful counseling and teaching experience
- Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider (SSP) license
- CDE School Counselor (PreK-12) endorsement
- Strong communication, organization and planning skills
- Experience in an educational environment
- Experience with concurrent enrollment and ASCENT programming
- Sedentary work strength level (lifting or carrying up to ten pounds)
- Works both indoors and outdoors
- Typically a moderate noise level
- Experience working in the public sector
- Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
- Racially conscious and culturally competent with the skill, will, capacity, and knowledge to commit to a culture of continuous improvement
