Job Summary:
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is building a collaborative team of exceptional researchers to address critical scientific questions in the area of reproductive sciences with the long-term goal to improve women's health by informing evidence-based medicine. We are seeking to expand our basic and translational science research programs through the recruitment of one or more highly meritorious PhD or MD/PhD faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and/or Professor.
Successful candidates may work in any area of reproductive sciences and is expected to show clear evidence innovation and excellence in their fields. Investigators with a research program involving the use of lab space will have their primary appointment in the Division of Reproductive Sciences. The research activities of this division are diverse and span a wide range of women's reproductive health issues and include:
* Determining the molecular mechanisms underlying pelvic prolapse
* Investigating underlying biology and therapeutic vulnerabilities of gynecologic cancers
* Investigating the impact of obesity on female reproductive function
* Understanding gonadotropin biology
* Studying the function of the human placenta in normal and complicated pregnancies
* Establishing the mechanistic links between placental function and disease in the offspring
* Studying the regulation of utero-placental blood flow, maternal metabolism and placental function at high altitude
* Understanding the physiology of lactation and identifying mechanisms contributing to lactation failure
* Discovering the mechanisms regulating early human placental development
Investigators with translational or basic science research expertise in the areas of gynecologic cancer, reproductive endocrinology and infertility, pregnancy, lactation and developmental programming, urogynecology, and artificial intelligence and machine learning are particularly encouraged to apply. The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides a full spectrum of clinical care for women and excellence in education through our Residency, Fellowship and the Physiology/Reproductive Sciences graduate programs.
In addition, the Department maintains a well-funded and highly competitive research programs in basic, translational, and clinical sciences, occupying 15,000 sq ft of modern laboratory space.
