Job Summary:
The Office of Medical Education (OME) within the University of Colorado’s School of Medicine (SOM) is searching for an Estes Park Liaison for the Northern Colorado Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship site. The School of Medicine’s Office of Medical Education has transitioned the core clinical curriculum into a Longitudinal Integrated Clerkship (LIC) model, with core clinical education occurring longitudinally in outpatient settings and targeted hospital-based training called immersions during the core clinical year.
Core competencies will be taught across adults, children, and pregnant patients by providers representing family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry, surgery, and emergency medicine.
A longitudinal integrated clerkship (LIC) emphasizes:
- Student participation in comprehensive care of patients over time
- Continuous learning relationships with patients’ clinicians
- Meeting core clinical competencies through ongoing experiences

ResponsibilitiesExamples of Work Performed:
50% - Assist with the administration of the LIC in Northern Colorado – Estes Park, and work to continually improve the experience for students and preceptors. Specifically:
- Participate in LIC team planning meetings or calls when needed
- Communicate effectively with the LIC coordinator(s) and director(s) as needed
- Work with the team to create a schedule for students at your site that aligns with the rest of the clerkship
- Identify interested preceptors for the clerkship experience, and assist them in obtaining clinical faculty appointments with CUSOM
- Develop, coordinate, and communicate a clinical schedule with the student(s) and preceptors at your site
- Work with the team to identify and support faculty development for preceptors
- Ensure adequate student feedback from faculty at your site
- Work with the team to develop and deliver student orientation at your site
- Stay abreast of changes in clerkship requirements so they can be adopted
- Provide feedback and remediation to any faculty not meeting expectations of excellence in clinical teaching
50% - Mentorship and evaluation responsibilities:
- Participate in teaching by precepting students and providing feedback as requested
- Work with the LIC director and preceptors to identify students who need remediation and refer them to Northern Colorado LIC leadership
- Assist LIC coordinator in gathering evaluations and feedback from specialty attendings about LIC students
- Share feedback on the LIC with attending faculty physicians
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite in Estes Park, CO.

QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire. This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor, Senior Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor based on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Instructor:
- Candidates must hold a terminal degree such as an MD or DO from an accredited University.
- Practicing clinically in Estes Park, Colorado.
- Candidates must be able to obtain an Instructor faculty appointment at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
Sr. Instructor:
