Job Summary:
The Business Services Professional in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery will join the administrative team and be responsible for performing transactional-level functions across the division under the direction of the Division Administrative Director (DAD). The purpose of this position is to provide a full range of business and administrative support for the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Responsibilities for this position include working directly with division faculty for preparation and submission of travel authorizations and expense reimbursements, purchasing and procurement, assisting with credentialing processes, providing recruitment, and onboarding support, and providing high-level administrative support to clinical faculty.
The Business Services Professional will also perform payroll adjustments under the direction of the DAD provide project management support and perform a variety of administrative functions as assigned.
Administrative Support 40%
Provide administrative support to the division and individual faculty, exercising confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.
Assist faculty with travel by obtaining department approval for travel, University Approval for international travel, and completing expense reports per CU policies and procedures.
Manage and coordinate planning of annual events and occasional official functions.
Basic administrative needs across the division including maintain division contact lists and organizational charts; maintain e-mail distribution lists.
Accounting and Finance Support 60%
Within delegated financial authority, assists with purchasing and procurement.
Serve as a fiscal staff member for the Divisions and coordinates other procurement related activities and policies, including purchase orders and payment vouchers.
Adhere to current financial policies and procedures; independently seek training and guidance on new policies and procedures.
Assist Division leadership with project support, data gathering, entry and administrative support.
Perform day-to-day transactions related to HR activities for the Divisions including but not limited to: on all aspects of PET's and funding distributions.
Assist with Monthly Financial Detail reports and Foundation accounts.
Concur Travel and Procurement approver.
Work Location:
Hybrid - this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Minimum Qualifications Entry Level:
A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
Minimum Qualifications Intermediate:
A bachelor's degree in business, business administration, finance, accounting, education, social sciences, healthcare administration, public administration, communications, information systems, or a directly related field from an accredited institution
1 year of professional level experience in business operations or coordination.
A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within an academic financial environment
Experience with University of Colorado systems and policies
Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping and journal entries.
Experience with financial and accounting concepts
