Clerical Assistant for our aquatics centers. This role is at the heart of the action, supporting activities from indoor lap pools to outdoor spraygrounds. It is a flexible, part-time opportunity suitable for students or others seeking a high-energy environment.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities
- Be the face of the center:
Greet guests and help them navigate. - Manage class registrations and assist visitors with programs.
- Front desk duties: answer phone calls, respond to inquiries, and handle basic payments.
- Assist with daily tasks to keep pools and spraygrounds ready for the community.
- Flexible hours to fit around school or commitments
- Great experience: develop customer service and office skills
- Fun atmosphere in a lively, water-and-sun environment

- Basic computer skills and comfort with simple math
- High School diploma or GED (or actively pursuing one)
Hiring range: $16.36 - $20.45/hour. Salary to be commensurate with experience.
This is a classified Seasonal position, limited to six (6) consecutive months and up to 40 hours per week. This position does not provide medical benefits. It earns sick leave in accordance with the Healthy Families and Workplace Act.
The hiring season for this role is expected to begin on Monday, March 23, 2026 and may run through Sunday, September 13, 2026. The City of Aurora will conduct ongoing screenings of applications throughout the year. If a qualified pool is identified, the position may close quickly without notice.

Position OverviewThe City of Aurora is seeking a qualified Clerical Assistant to perform receptionist duties and a variety of clerical and administrative support for the operation of Village Green Recreation Center.
PrimaryDuties & Responsibilities (Village Green)
- Display exceptional front desk customer service
- Answer and direct questions from customers by telephone and in person
- Register customers in classes using City registration system
- Process payments and handle daily revenue reconciliation
- Maintain logs, records, and information
- Operate standard office equipment
- Assist with room setup and takedown
- Assist with the preschool program
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Education:
High School diploma or GED - Experience:
At least 6 months of clerical training/experience or equivalent - Knowledge:
Business English, spelling, math; general office equipment; and basic computer software - Skills:
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills; accurate data entry and cash handling - Abilities:
Establish and maintain effective working relationships; communicate effectively; prioritize tasks
- Physical Demands:
Light physical work; may lift up to 30 pounds; set up for facility programs - Office equipment operation; clear vision; good hearing and communication skills
- Work Environment:
Recreation facility; may be high-noise and busy; some outdoor work
- Standard office equipment and software (email, internet, Word, Excel, registration system), calculator, multi-line phones, copy/fax machines, credit card machines, cash drawer
