Housekeeper, Healthcare

Job Summary

We are looking for a professional Housekeeper able to attend to our facilities with integrity and attention to detail. The goal is to create a clean and orderly environment for our guests that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation while simultaneously ensuring we adhere to quality care standards.

• Perform and adhere to infection prevention and control (IPAC) best practices for a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, emptying garbage, cleaning bathrooms, and completing cleaning after discharge.
• Adhere to IPAC and Bayshore procedures to perform admission room, discharge, and isolation and/or outbreak client room and unit cleaning.
• Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure all rooms are cared for and inspected according to standards.
• Protect equipment and ensure there are no inadequacies.
• Notify superiors of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
• Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
• Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace when appropriate.
• Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
• Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
• Participate in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties, and notify the immediate supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
• Responsible for completing Accident Reports for all direct reports who injure themselves on the job, within 24 hours of the incident.
• Actively participate in and demonstrate support for continuous quality improvement initiatives.
• Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information and discuss it only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
• Complete other tasks as requested.

• Completion of secondary school diploma preferred and Home Support Programs as appropriate.
• Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper.
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Customer‑oriented and friendly.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to handle difficult situations in an objective, consistent format.
• Prioritization skills of multiple functions and tasks, and time‑management skills.
• Working quickly without compromising quality.
• Ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel and reach freely.
• Ability to freely lift 23 kilograms.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, in either English or French.
• Understands and implements infection prevention practices.

At least one year of recent experience in a similar position or life experience in which similar duties were completed.
