The Institutional Product Group enables Coinbase’s institutional business, supporting thousands of large financial institutions to custody digital assets and participate in the crypto economy securely. The team builds scalable crypto platforms, infrastructure, and user interfaces across web, mobile, and browser extensions, with a focus on cutting-edge technologies and new initiatives.
What you’ll be doing- Build new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang.
- Design scalable systems to solve novel problems with modern cloud technology and industry best practices.
- Articulate a long-term vision for maintaining and scaling backend systems and the teams that run them.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, product managers, and senior leadership to turn product and technical vision into a quarterly roadmap.
- Write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.
- You have at least 5 years of experience in software engineering.
- You have designed, built, scaled, and maintained production services and know how to compose a service-oriented architecture.
- You write high-quality, well-tested code to meet customer needs.

- You have experience with rapid growth in a company (startup to mid-size).
- Experience with growth experiments or A/B testing frameworks.
- You have experience with blockchain technology (e.g., Bitcoin, Ethereum).
- You have experience decomposing a large monolith into microservices.
- You have worked with Golang, Ruby, Docker, Rails, Postgres, Mongo
DB or Dynamo
DB. - You have built financial, high-reliability, or security systems.
- Crypto-forward experience, including familiarity with onchain activity such as Ethereum addresses, ENS, and blockchain-based services.
Pay transparency notice:
The target annual salary range is $186,005—$218,900 USD, with full-time offers including target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
