Description

Summary:

The Assistant Manager is an hourly employee whose primary function is the operation and supervision of a theatre and its employees, acting as a representative of Regal in a manner consistent with our mission statement and policies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Regular and consistent attendance.
  • Uphold and administer all theatre policies.
  • Train, develop, coach and supervise non‑management employees.
  • Perform all staff positions as required.
  • Operate all projection and audio‑visual equipment within the theatre, both hardware and software, and handle film threading, building‑up, tearing‑down, and maintenance.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all systems in Booth and Projection technology, including maintenance, programming, TMS operation and projection skills.
  • Ensure alcohol certification and training are current where applicable.
  • Monitor risk management, employee and patron safety, loss prevention, emergency situations, and proper handling, reporting and investigation of accidents.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Count, deposit and reconcile all receipts taken during a business day, including cash, credit cards, coupons, gift cards, checks, discount tickets and any other payment modes.
  • Adhere to dress code requirements.
  • Complete or be in the process of completing the management certification program.
  • Review and understand the ROM.
  • Interview, hire, schedule, coach, counsel, suspend, and terminate cast members in coordination with the General Manager and Human Resources.
  • Control costs, purchase and order concession and café stock, and oversee inventory and auditing processes.
  • Supervise theatre maintenance, perform minor repairs and engage qualified personnel for major concerns.
  • Market and promote feature film engagements; schedule movie show times and deliver schedules to all proper channels.
  • Read and understand training materials on sexual harassment and discrimination.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent (or current high school student). At least three months supervisory experience, or six months theatre experience with completion of Cast Certification Program, or a combination thereof, or demonstrated leadership skills subject to VP approval.

Alcohol Sales

Must be of legal age to sell and serve alcohol as required, complete all state or local training, and obtain the Regal Responsible Beverage Server training.

Language Ability

Good public speaking skills; effectively communicate orally and in writing with employees, vendors, corporate staff, etc., listen effectively, respond clearly, and explain information.

Math Ability

Perform calculations quickly and accurately, identify and correct errors.

Reasoning Ability

Identify problems, gather relevant data, note possible causes, evaluate information, recognize alternatives, reach conclusions, recommend solutions, and act with minimal supervision under pressure.

Computer And Office Skills

Experience with PC platforms, basic office programs, operating copiers and office equipment, filing systems, attention to detail, mechanical aptitude.

Personal Skills

Interface effectively with customers, public, coworkers, exhibit sensitivity, set goals, budget time, set priorities.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervise an unspecified number of employees. Perform duties per Regal policies and applicable laws: training and coaching, planning and assigning work, appraising performance, rewarding, addressing complaints, negotiating, resolving problems, and discipline under GM or senior manager direction. May also interview and hire.

Physical Demands

Stand, walk, sit, use hands; reach, talk, hear; sometimes climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl. Regularly lift up to 60 lbs. Require close, distance, peripheral, depth perception and adjust-focus vision.
