The ADAP Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting the State of Maine’s HIV/AIDS continuum of care
, with a focus on the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) under the Ryan White Part B initiative. The ADAP Coordinator is responsible for enrolling and eligibility in different insurance programs, and ensuring our clients have the best insurance coverage. This position strengthens access to HIV medications, insurance coverage, and care coordination services for people living with
HIV
/
AIDS across Maine.
Position Overview
The ADAP Coordinator assists program leadership by conducting policy research, analysis, and development
, and creating practical, Maine-specific recommendations to help programs and communities reduce the burden of disease. This role also contributes to project planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting—supporting statewide strategies to improve outcomes for individuals affected by
HIV and AIDS
.
A major component of the role includes coordinating the ADAP insurance premium payment program to ensure timely payment
, assisting members with eligible insurance enrollment, and managing a variety of ADAP functions
, such as:
- Enrollment and eligibility support
- Expense monitoring and payment processing
- Outreach and education
- Policy review and development
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the ADAP insurance premium payment program and ensure timely processing.
- Support clients in accessing HIV-related insurance coverage, prescription assistance, and Ryan White Part B resources.
- Manage ADAP enrollment workflows, expense tracking, and documentation requirements.
- Conduct research and develop policy recommendations related to HIV
, AIDS
, ADAP functions, and public health programming in the State of Maine
. - Assist with project planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting activities.
- Contribute to the development of materials and recommendations aimed at reducing the burden of HIV/AIDS statewide.
- Coordinate outreach efforts and support communication with clients, stakeholders, and community partners.
- Prepare reports, summaries, presentations, and analysis to support program operations.
Qualifications, Skills, and
Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field, social sciences, public health, or business administration (or equivalent combination of 4 years' education, training, and/or work experience).
- Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated cultural competence.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines independently.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort learning other required software.
- Demonstrated interviewing and data-gathering skills for determining eligibility.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced team.
- Competencies aligned with Public Health Foundation Council on Linkages, Level II.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Knowledge of health insurance systems (private and public), including those relevant to HIV/AIDS and ADAP services.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis.
- Experience working within HIV
, AIDS
, ADAP, or public health programs in the State of Maine
.
