The RoleThe Addiction Medicine Counselor provides assessment, diagnostic, individual, group and family therapy services to patients treated on an outpatient basis.

Maine General Health is currently seeking an exceptional Addiction Medicine Counselor to join our team. Maine General is a leading health care system that is proud of the culture of excellence, compassion and collaboration that extends to our patients and their families.
The Work
- Formulates individual patient treatment plans and completes all required documentation.
- Systematically and continually assesses the patient's mental status in collaboration with the patient/family/providers.
- Provides outpatient individual, group, and family counseling.
- Identifies and refers patients to appropriate community resources for follow-up care.
- Active LCSW license required.
- At least 1 year of Addiction Medicine experience preferred.
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proven and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
