School RN in Augusta, ME

A Registered Nurse with school nursing experience is needed to provide dedicated care to a student in a K-12 school setting in Augusta, Maine. This contract position spans the current school year, starting as soon as possible and continuing through June 10, 2026. The role requires a compassionate and attentive RN who can support the student during her school day, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.

Position Details:

• Part-time: 24 hours per week
• Onsite presence required
• Contract duration:
  Current school year up to June 10, 2026
• Working hours:
  
  Approximately 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., three days per week (specific days to be provided)
• Caseload:
  Accompany and assist one student who requires support due to seizures and specific medical needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the student from bus pickup through the remainder of the school day
• Implement and monitor the seizure plan with close supervision
• Support mobility using a drop harness and helmet, ensuring safe movement throughout the school day
• Maintain communication with school staff regarding the student's health and well-being

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered Nurse licensed to practice in Maine
• Experience in pediatric nursing or school nursing environments
• Ability to follow detailed care plans and respond appropriately to seizure events
• Strong observational skills and attention to student safety
