Overview
Savannah R-III School District is seeking a qualified and dedicated Missouri Option (MO Option) Teacher to join our instructional team. The successful candidate will provide engaging, standards-based and competency-based instruction to support students enrolled in the Missouri Option Program—an alternative high school graduation pathway for eligible, credit-deficient students. This position focuses on individualized academic support, relationship-building, and college/career readiness in a positive, student-centered learning environment.
This position is for the 2026-27.
Instruction & Academic Support
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with district curriculum and the requirements of the Missouri Option Program.
- Support students in mastering academic competencies that align to program expectations and preparing them for the HiSET® exam as appropriate.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs, especially those with interrupted or irregular education histories.
Program Implementation & Compliance
- Implement the Missouri Option Program following DESE guidelines and annual assurance standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, competency mastery, and instructional interventions.
- Ensure completion of all documentation needed for DESE reporting and program compliance.
Student Support & Engagement
- Build positive, respectful relationships to promote student engagement, confidence, and persistence.
- Provide guidance on career readiness, post-secondary goals, and employability skills.
- Communicate regularly with students about progress, expectations, and next steps.
Collaboration & Communication
- Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and support staff to meet individual student needs.
- Communicate effectively with families and community partners when appropriate.
Other Duties
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive instructional environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building administrator.
Required
- Valid Missouri teaching certificate at the secondary level (or Adult Education & Literacy certificate).
Preferred
- Experience with alternative education programming, competency-based instruction, or high school equivalency preparation.
- Experience working with at-risk or nontraditional learners.
