Our client, a government agency specializing in motor vehicle services, is seeking a Programmer 3 to join their team. As a Programmer 3, you will be part of the IT Development Department supporting system integration and cloud migration initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong problem‑solving skills, adaptability, and excellent communication skills, which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Augusta, ME

Pay Range: $50/hr w2

What's the Job?

• Design, develop, test, and maintain RESTful web services to facilitate secure data exchange between internal systems and external vendor platforms.
• Develop and integrate new functionalities into the existing application ecosystem based on business and vendor requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze technical needs and translate them into scalable, efficient solutions.
• Ensure system interoperability, optimize performance, and adhere to security and compliance standards.
• Support cloud migration efforts, including refactoring services and minimizing service disruptions during transition.

What's Needed?

• Experience developing RESTful APIs and web services.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages and frameworks such as Java, .NET, or Python.
• Experience integrating third‑party vendor systems and APIs.
• Knowledge of authentication and security protocols like OAuth2, JWT, and SSL/TLS.
• Experience working in both on‑premises and cloud‑based environments (e.g., AWS, Azure).
