Do you possess excellent office and administrative support skills? If so, look no further; this is the position for you! The State Military Bureau is seeking detail oriented office and administrative support specialist to help manage state and federal property. This position is operationally essential and involves fulfilling the following tasks: surveying, coordinating and processing acquisition and/or disposal documentation, and maintaining property accountability and cost record systems for real property statewide.
Primaryresponsibilities
- Draft, review, update and distribute legal documents to authoritative and leadership stakeholders for signature approval
- Input, update and submit needed edits to real estate databases
- Manage hard copy and digital files relating to real property and land
- Submit/process approved documents to state and federal entities
- Attend, brief and support land acquisition, disposal, and change proposals to applicable facility boards
- Knowledge of real estate and land acquisition theories, principles, practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of surveying and basic civil engineering practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting and record keeping practices and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and/or activities.
- Ability to effectively resolve problems.
Training, education or experience in office and administrative support work that demonstrates
1) competency in applying a proficient knowledge of inventory and property to perform advanced work in managing the acquisition and disposal of real property and
2) the ability to use independent judgment, initiative and decision making on complex administrative matters.
All positions in this classification assume the qualifications of:
Inventory and Property Assistant, Inventory and Property Associate I, and Inventory and Property Associate II.
LICENSING/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (These must be met by all employees prior to attaining permanent status in this class.)
Some positions may require possession of a valid Class B and/or Class C Maine Motor Vehicle Operator’s License.
