The Transmission Apprentice Lineman assists Transmission Journeyman Lineman and the Foreman while in training and learning the trade. Responsible for performing diversified work related to the construction and maintenance of poles, power lines, auxiliary facilities, and equipment for the distribution of electricity. This position supports the Line team and works with other personnel from the department.

• Transmission structure replacements, wire pulling, new line builds.
• Perform construction, maintenance, or repair work of Transmission lines.
• Install and maintain wood poles and steel towers of all heights, including setting, framing, and installing hardware, and other related materials.
• Operate and maintain vehicles and specialized equipment used in the electric utility industry.
• Safely identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit and have familiarity with induced voltage.

Minimum

• Valid and current state Driver’s License.
• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• 3 years of lineman experience.
• Valid Class A CDL is required.

This job operates in a field environment and requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, and twisting, including work in inclement weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and have adequate vision and color distinction for safety tasks.
