Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Preventive Maintenance Electrical Technician to lead and execute preventive maintenance programs for a wide range of electrical systems and equipment. This hands‑on role requires deep technical knowledge, advanced diagnostic skills, and a proactive approach to system upkeep. The ideal candidate will have experience with power distribution systems, motor control centers, circuit protection, and building automation systems, ensuring operational reliability and minimizing unplanned downtime.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of preventive maintenance activities on electrical systems and equipment.
- Inspect, test, and maintain electrical components such as wiring, circuits, panels, switch gear, lighting systems, and transformers.
- Perform advanced diagnostics including electrical load testing, insulation resistance testing, and system performance analysis.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and implement corrective actions to ensure reliable system performance.
- Maintain and service electrical equipment such as motors, variable speed drives (VSDs), power distribution units (PDUs), and motor control centers (MCCs).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including mechanical, HVAC, and facilities staff to support integrated maintenance operations.
- Maintain detailed maintenance logs and records, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Ensure all maintenance work aligns with local electrical codes, industry regulations, and internal safety protocols.
- Monitor the condition of critical infrastructure and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.
- TS/SCI w/ Poly Clearance is required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of electrical principles (AC/DC, circuits, voltage, current).
- Ability to use basic hand tools and electrical testing equipment (e.g., multimeter).
- Willingness to learn preventive maintenance procedures and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to follow written instructions, safety guidelines, and maintenance schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, and lift as required.
- Experience or interest in facility, industrial, or commercial electrical work only.
- Technical certificate, trade school coursework, or vocational training in electrical or industrial maintenance.
- 0-2 years of experience in electrical maintenance, facilities maintenance, or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs or CMMS systems.
- Basic knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards (OSHA, NEC).
- Experience assisting with inspections, repairs, or troubleshooting of fixed electrical systems.
- Strong communication skills and eagerness to grow into a more advanced technician role.
