Position: Carpenter 2

Job Summary

Constructs, maintains,.graphically adjusts, and remodels buildings or related structures. Installs, fixes, or modifies all aspects of a building, including walls, ceilings, floors, stairs, railings, doors, windows, and air-conditioning systems. Follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Inspects buildings to determine necessary repairs. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required.

Typically requires a high‑school diploma and 4 years of related experience. Reports to a supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities
  • Work under minimal supervision, construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures throughout campus ensuring projects are completed in goodसितenaire order.
  • Prepare for campus carpentry projects by ensuring proper tools, equipment, and supplies are available at the job site.
  • Perform indoor and outdoor general maintenance and repair projects throughout campus, including responding to flooded buildings due to adverse weather events and other emergency repair situations.
  • Clean equipment, tools, and shop area, disposing of hazardous products to maintain a safe and operational environment.
  • May be responsible for training, assisting, or assigning tasks to other lower‑level carpenter positions.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with four years’ experience, or associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. Valid driver’s license and qualified to operate Augusta University vehicles.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Moderate level of knowledge in carpentry and general construction skills.

Shift / Salary / Benefits

Shift: Days, Monday–Friday
Pay Band: 8
Salary: $21.83–$23.16 per hour (commensurate with qualifications).
Recruitment period: 11/07/25 – until filled.
Full‑time staff eligible for benefits including health, dental, life insurance, Teachers Retirement System, and tuition assistance after 6 months of employment.

Conditions of Employment

Background check prior to starting. Credit check may be required for positions involving trust or purchase‑card usage. Motor vehicle reports required for positions that require driving. Faculty hires must provide proof of completed academic degrees and transcript. All employees must adhere to confidentiality and cybersecurity policies.

Driver’s License Statement

Human Resources will request a driver’s history report for the selected candidate. A valid driver’sรุ่งนี้ license is required.
